Marvin's Room = Her Room.

In order for me to write this, I have to listen to the track itself. Teyana took Drake's "Marvin's room" and made it her own. I think this definitely came from the heart when Teyana decided to write and record this. Though, all music and writing comes from the heart, this feels personal to me. Whether or not it is for her it's a great song. You definitely feel the pain and hurt with Teyana singing. The first time I heard the track, I cried. Why? I can't tell you. I haven't been through any break-up or relationship for that matter. It's just, I feel this is the girls anthem. For any girl going through a break-up,broke up already, or dealing with any type of relationship problems this song will definitely help you out. Not to mention the Lauryn Hill swag at the end.

Real Life.

So, I was reading a bunch of blogs the other day and came across a article on reasons your single (females). You know, like not in a relationship. This caught my eye and I decided to check the article out. I totally forgot what site it was on, but I do remember some of the reasons they said are the reasons a single person is indeed still single. Some reasons was because you have "a stank attitude" and "you have unresolved daddy issues". This was ironic for me because I can have a "stank attitude" if you push me and I personally have "unresolved daddy issues". For me, I don't think the daddy issues play a role in relationships I choose to have. If anything, it helped me realize the characteristics I don't want in my spouse. I know, to find someone better than what my father is. The attitude part is in my genes. My mom and dad, are professionals when it comes to this "attitude" thing. (Lol)
It just happened to pass down to me. But though I may have an attitude, It has become rare that I'll catch one. I've matured way before my time. I learned, attitudes get you nothing and no problems solved. It all just builds up to be a bigger problem.So, is this the reason I'm single? Personally, I don't think so. First Off, I'm 19years of age, The young guys within my age range possibly have kids already, only want sex, and the majority of them have no jobs. That's not going to work out with me. I don't plan on having sex anytime soon, I am somewhat materialistic(girls do like gifts), and There's no way I'm dealing with "baby momma drama" ! So with that being said, those statistics may be true, but it definitely define me being single.

With her solo career on the roll Kelly Rowland doesn't seem like she's going to fall short. Her first single "Motivation" has been on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart for ten weeks and she has finally reached the No. 1 spot on the charts. With her second single "Lay It On Me" it seems as though Kelly is ready for the Success she deserves. "Lay It On Me" was produced by Hit Boy from Surf Club, penned by Ester Dean and Big Sean featured the track and layed down a lovely verse. The song is a definitely a song that could get a lot of radio play. It definitely has the "Commercial" effect to it. Overall a lovely song and I can't wait to see what comes out of this. Possibly #1 on billboard charts again?

`2011 Champions

So the Dallas Mavericks are the new NBA Champions.

 This is also the franchise first NBA Championship title. With a bunch of veterans on the team, Dirk in the league for 13 years and Jason Kidd 17 years  this was a well deserved year for the Mavericks. Underdogs the entire season, they remained focused to do something that has never been done within this franchise. The players were destined to win this years championship. Dirk Nowitzki, Jason Kidd, Jason Terry, Caron Butler, Shawn Marion, Tyson Chandler and Coach Carlisle all deserved to win. Coach Carlisle has always been a winning coach and has not received the credit he deserves for his involvement in the Mavericks Championship. With all the speculation going on with Miami's players and their drama, Dwayne Wade and Lebron James mocking Dirk, Dirk kept it classy and came out on top. He told his teammates not to respond to the incident involving LBJ and D.Wade because he didn't want it to be a distraction to the team and being that it was his problem he said he'll handle it on his own. And boy did he handle it.. he won the Championship, he was MVP of the championship and he took his talents to South Beach's own...Club LIV ! Nice shot to throw huh?

Cory's becoming a man of his own. His reality show "Son of a Gun"was a success. He's signed to Young Money! And he's being managed by Mr.Nickelodeon himself ;Nick Cannon;NCREDIBLE. He truly has everything he needs to become the superstar he has the potential to be. Personally, he's a superstar in my eyes already. His witty way with words, His disinterest in conflict, His humbleness is just perfect! I can't wait to see what he work up! Major shoutout to VIBE for "The Score"

MMG.. Group Sex

Angela Yee' interviews the entire Maybach Music Group Team. ..All together. Rick Ross, Meek Mill, Wale and Pill. They talk about everything from Groupie Love to their sexual stamina. This has got to be the funniest interview I've ever read. But then again, anything Yee does is great. <3 She created a playlist of (sexual) songs and they all just talked. Some of the songs were " I wanna get next to you" Rose Royce, " Lay your head on my pillow" Tony Toni Tone, and "Neighbors know my name" Trey Songz. She questions Meek about how long he can last, Wale about not wanting a "Whore", Ross about "Licking it before you stick it" and Pill about everything. It's a casual friendly conversation turned into a interview. The entire MMG is hilarious and Angela Yee is a trip! Pill has turned into my favorite MMG Guy..just for the simple fact that this dude is beyond hilarious..but yet so truthful. ( Wale is still my MMG Crush though (: )

A Disappointed Fan . ..

So, yesterday was the day I've been waiting for. Ryan Leslie and Pusha T were having a show at Gramercy Theater. I Rallied up my friends and sister to go and we all brought our tickets. Mind you, the advertisement had no age requirements, Eventbrite had no age requirements on the website so we everything was cool. The show started at 10:30. We were there by 9ish.. On the line and all. All of sudden the event staff comes out and say's have your ID's ready! If you are not 21&Over you will NOT Be getting in. So me, being the extreme fan I am automatically wanted to break down and cry, because I've been waiting like FOREVER to see Ryan work. Like the piano and all.. I was excited for the night. So, there was one security guy who told everyone under age to step to the side so he can ask the FUSE staff if they'll let us in. Mind you, there was enough underage kids to have some type of sympathy to let us in. Nope! That was nowhere near on anyones agenda. A lady that works either for Fuse, one of the artists/labels or one the sponsors came out and was rude, Well I thought anyway. She just simply laid it out there.. you can give your tickets back and get a refund, but you will not be getting in. I was highly upset. First off, she was unprofessional. With me being an aspiring Music A&R this is a situation you always wanna avoid. Situations like this leads to the artist losing fans. .her being rude, us being mislead, whoever created the flyers and did the promoting not saying there was an age requirement, it was just all wrong. She had no sympathy. I honestly don't care about the money being refunded, All I wanted was to see PushaT and Ryan Leslie. It didn't happen and now I'll probably think twice before buying tickets to their shows for the simple fact that, one mistake has happened already. I'll remain a fan of both of these guys but what happened yesterday was very unprofessional! Like the age requirement should have been handled when whoever decided this was an event that was gonna happen! smh.. I'm Done. I Still Love Ryan & Pusha Though because I believe if they knew what happened they might have pushed for us to get in.

With Drakes highly anticipated sophomore album " Take Care " dropping in July Drake has leaked one of the songs on his album called "Marvin's Room." To me, Marvin's Room is Take Care's "Karaoke" song off "Thank Me Later." 40 produced the song and it seems he channels this like Late night,beach walk/talk with your bf/gf kind of vibe. Or maybe that's just me -_- I just have this way of creating visuals in my head so maybe that's the reason for my vibe. But overall the song is sick.. Definitely has me antsy for Take Care to come out!

Weezy's A Fan At Summer Jam 2o11...

So I found some footage of Summer Jam 2011 on Miss Info's website .. One performance that kind of set me back was Young Money / Maybach Music Group's set. Wayne, Drake, Rozay and Khaled performed " Im On One " and I have to admit they killed that shi. ..

but back to the performance, when Rick Ross was doing his verse, Wayne looks like the biggest fan! He's antsy, reciting the lyrics with Ross and you can just tell he has an deep appreciation for music. I always here Wayne is the biggest supporter or Wayne is the biggest fan and now I see it. For him to be the superstar he is, it's rare to see people of that caliber to go in how Weezy did. I guess it shows that though he is a big deal in Music, he still remains humble and a fan first. <3

I Cried Happy Tears . .. .

So I heard a single off Big Sean's Highly Anticipated Album " Finally Famous" and all I can say is I cannot wait for the album to drop! The song is entitled " So Much More " produced by the super producer NO I.D. Some of the lines were taken from previous songs but Big Sean put it together well. The beat is smooth and soulful. I believe Charlie Wilson is on the background vocals too. The song is about his life and songs like this always hit home for me personally. As soon as I heard the beat and the first lyrics being "Feeling like I got the cheat code to life, jewelry looking like it got free throwed in ice, debating with the reaper not to repo' my life, cause in my 23 years I done lived a couple lives like why? cause I stunt ... I pay bills I work hard, and when my momma cried a river they never gave us a bridge they gave us a bridge car!" Growing up in settings that could be considered to be unstable or if you just feel nobody believes in you..This is the perfect song! I Cried happy tears listening to this song. Every body wants to become something, dealing with success. You always want your family to be in comfort and live a comfortable life. Big Sean is living his dream and the song Describes it! I LOVE IT! June 28 I Will be at the nearest BEST BUY Store to support Big Sean and one of my favorite labels .. DEF JAM RECORDS ! BOI! <3

The Official Warrior Leader. . .

I am sad and torn to say Mark Jackson is the new head coach of the Golden State Warriors. This was a definite shock to me. It hadn't been in the news, Mark said nothing during his time commentating the playoffs and not even a reporter knew he'd be the new coach. I know Mark will be a great coach because of the person he is. He's more of a "Players coach." He understands what the players go through and he's an easy guy to talk to. He has such a witty and caring personality. Not to mention..he's declaring they Warriors will be in the playoffs. Selfishly, I am upset. Mark Jackson and Jeff Van Gundy are the dynamic duo when it comes to NBA Commentating. The personalities, the comedy.. It's just going to be missed. Jeff is short a partner and  I'm not sure anyone could top what he and Mark brought to NBA Commentating. It'll be a bit awkward not seeing behind the table and on the sideline, but it's nothing we cant get used to! Congrats to Mark Jackson! It is definitely well deserved and I'm excited to see what the Warriors work up in the upcoming season.
